I made you a thing today

Who are you?

I am a first-year graduate student at the MIT Media Lab. You can learn more through my (somewhat outdated) portfolio and my research group.

Why did you make this site?

This summer I have a lot (?!) of lightly structured research time. It's great to have so much space to explore, but it also can be hard to start new projects and frustrating when progress isn't quick. I hope this site will encourage me to begin somewhere, even when I'm not sure where that should be, and to document my work. I hope it also reminds me that I did do something productive today, yesterday, and back on that day in June.

Your research is...that stuff?

A lot of it. I'm really happy to be in an "anti-disciplinary" program that encourages playfulness and prototyping. Many things I include here are part of a bigger research idea or become part of one eventually. Others are only tangentially related--an attempt to learn a new skill or an aspect of my non-academic life. The things here span the range of my interests and hopefully over time the trees will start to look like a forest.

That really took you all day?

Probably not. Many things here took less than an hour, though not necessarily the ones you'd expect. I try to include things from my day that were fun or interesting or satisfying or headed towards something.

How can I reach you?
